At the initial consultation, your concerns will be addressed and the best course of treatment planned. You will determine if you are compatible with the therapist.
How long does a visit last?
Sessions normally last from 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your benefits and needs.
How do I select a therapist?
When you call to set up an initial consultation, our receptionist will work to match your needs with the most appropriate psychotherapist, who is usually available within a week.
Do therapists prescribe medication?
No. If such treatment is deemed necessary, you will be given a referral to a qualified psychiatrist of other medical doctor.
What is an EAP?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is provided through an employer and is designed to provide a workplace benefit. Typically, an EAP provider will assist with all problems other than diagnosable “medical” problems. If further treatment is needed, the EAP provider can make this recommendation.
Do the therapists at Creative Change treat drug and alcohol addictions?
Clients with addictions will be accepted only if they are not currently using alcohol or drugs. Active users can be referred to appropriate treatment facilities.
How long does psychotherapy take?
The time required for psychotherapy depends on each client’s goals, and can take anywhere from a few visits to one or more years.
